A Datacron is an isometric object easily identifiable by it's glow. The reason why these Datacrons are scattered throughout the galaxy, why they are where they are or why they exist at all, is not clearly explained. They appear to predate the Republic, that's about all you'll know of their origin. What purpose do they provide? Well, they're a real simple way to gain a stat boost, that's for sure!

Any player of any class can interact with a Datacron and gain it's bonuses, though reaching them is often the hardest part. Accessing a Datacron will discover a new codex entry and permanently buff your character with a predetermined stat.

If you know what your looking for, these 'rare' rewards arn't so hard to find. Between us, the guild has now found every Datacron on every planet.

Each Datacron glows with a specific color. The color denotes the type of bonus you're going to gain from it when you activate it. Here's how they match up:

Datacrons are easy to spot since they emit a powerful glow (as you can see from the screenshot). As you can probably guess, Datacron's add a significant boost to your character so missing them really isn't an option if your going for a fully spec'ed character and getting them takes you to some of the most beautiful parts of every planet. As new Datacron's hit the game, we'll update this guide as quick as we find them.

What are Matrix Shards?

A single Matrix Shard serves no purpose what-so-ever, but in groups of Three, they can provide extremely valuable to you in the form of a Matrix Cube (built via an Assembler). Matrix Cubes then further enhance your character's attributes by being equippable into one of the three Relic slots of your character's load-out.
